Jaime fucking Lannister is the best character in the books, currently. Somehow he went from one of the most hated to one of the most respected, by the fandom, because while almost everyone else in the books got dumber, he got way smarter and more nobler, and it’s great and I adore him to no end.
(On another note, um, that quote up there, for a second I freaked out because it is eerily similar to a line of dialogue I was privy to hearing in person back in August…x3)
I should probably actually read the books at some point lol but I rather enjoyed not knowing what the fuck was coming (aside from winter, of course) watching the first season of the show and I can say hands down Jaime was the smug fucker who stole my heart.
